URI (Upper Respiratory Infection) is a contagious infection of the upper respiratory tract, which includes nose, throat, bronchi, pharynx and larynx. The common is a renowned type of URI, while others include epiglottitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, and tracheobronchitis.
Fever, headache, cough, nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, sputum production, sore throat are common symptoms of URI.
Treatment: Doxycycline, Ceftin, Levaquin, Zpak (Azithromycin), and more
Note: Influenza is a systemic illness and therefore not considered an URI.
